Fausto Balbo, born in 1970, lives in Garessio (CN) Italy.
Primarily self-taught, he works in sound, visual and sculptural-sound
He has been part of several varied musical groups as well as publishing
several solo CDs and has collaborated with various musicians and
artists, such as John Pearce, Andrea Marutti, Femina Faber, Patrizia
Oliva, Silvia Celeste Calcagno and Carlos Ferrando i Bellés. He has
written music for Enomisossab which was then performed by the Achitorti
quartet. In 2012 he took on the Veterae
Resonantiae Futurae project
with Femina Faber, which, the next year, also involved the transmedial
artist Pier Giorgio De Pinto. In 2014 the Movimentosordo project
started with the artist Carlos Ferrando i Bellés, producing
can be defined as the result of the encounter/confrontation between
sculpture, photography and infrasounds.
He curated the sound for Interno 8 – la fleur coupée with Silvia
Celeste Calcagno, winner of the 59th Faenza Award – their collaboration
continued in 2016 with sound on her work Ring around the Rosie, which
was selected for the la Ventiquattresima Biennale Internazionale di
Vallauris (F). The same year his first show of sculptural-sound
installations opened at the Circolo Culturale Eleutheros in Albissola
Marina (SV) Italy.
